About RPM Computers

The IT department businesses can rely on

RPM Computers is a Barrie-based IT company for businesses that want one place to start when technology needs to be handled. We help make sense of the systems, vendors, specialists, and decisions involved, then keep the work moving.

Bring us the concern. We work out the technical part.

We function as the IT department a business can rely on when technology needs to be handled. Bring us the concern even if you do not know which system, vendor, service, or specialist is involved.

Tell us what you are trying to accomplish or what is getting in the way. We work out the technical part, then explain what is happening, why it matters, what the options are, and what we recommend next.

How the relationship works

You talk. We handle the technical side.

The relationship should feel simple. You can call, explain the concern normally, and trust that we understand what you mean, why it matters, and what needs to happen next.

01

Speak normally

Tell us what you were trying to do and what happened instead. You do not need the right technical vocabulary. We will work out the technical part.

02

We translate both ways

We speak business and technology. A technically correct answer still has to make sense for the business, so we translate in both directions.

03

We keep it moving

Sometimes we do the work directly. Sometimes a specialist, platform, or vendor is part of the path. Either way, you should not be left coordinating the whole thing yourself.

How RPMC became this company

The work shaped the company RPMC is today.

RPMC developed over time, from a side business started in 2003 into an independent IT company built around stronger customer relationships and broader technical responsibility.

2003

A side business with hands-on roots

RPM Computers began in 2003 as a side business while Marco Camparsi continued building hands-on technical experience through IT work and education. Those early years formed the technical foundation the company grew from.

Around 2013

Customers valued how the problem was handled

By about 2013, RPM Computers had become a more active business, with a substantial amount of work subcontracted through other IT providers in the Barrie area. Marco often worked at customer sites representing those companies, and customers increasingly asked for him specifically. What stood out was how much people valued communication, listening, explanation, follow-through, and the way the overall problem was handled.

That experience helped shape the service style RPMC later built around its own customer relationships.

2018

Full independence, then a shift toward business IT

In 2018, RPM Computers stopped relying on subcontract work and became Marco's full-time independent business. The company was now building customer relationships under its own name. At that stage, much of the work was still residential, reactive, and focused on the problem currently in front of the customer. Some businesses that had previously worked with Marco through other IT companies later found RPM Computers directly.

Business customers gradually became a larger part of the company.

What changed

From fixing machines to looking after environments

For many home users, replacing a failed computer was becoming more practical than repairing and maintaining it. Business technology was different. A business computer can involve line-of-business applications, user accounts, shared files, security, printers, network services, cloud services, vendors, settings, and people who need to keep working. The computer itself is only one part of the environment. RPMC increasingly found that businesses needed someone who understood how all of those pieces worked together.

Many problems could be prevented, reduced, identified sooner, or made easier to recover from with regular attention to the environment. That led RPMC toward scheduled maintenance and then toward an ongoing service relationship with ticketing, remote support, monitoring, protection, and a much clearer understanding of each customer's environment. RPMC was already moving in that direction before recognizing that the industry called the broader model Managed Services.

When remote work suddenly became the way many businesses had to operate, the value of an ongoing relationship was obvious, and so were the parts of the model that still needed to mature.

Where it led

The place to start when something involves technology

As RPMC became more involved with businesses, customers naturally started bringing broader technology questions. Can you help with our phones? Can you deal with this software vendor? What should we do about Microsoft 365? Can you help with our website? We're moving offices. Can you handle the technology? That helped define what RPMC was becoming: the customer's IT department.

Business and technology

The right technical answer still has to work in a real business.

Marco has also operated businesses outside IT, including businesses in construction and the restaurant industry. That experience helped shape how we think about technology today. The technical answer has to work inside the realities of running a business.

Running a business means dealing with employees, customers, vendors, payroll, scheduling, cash flow, interruptions, and competing priorities. When technology fails, the first question is rarely a technical one. It is what this means for the day, the people, and the work that still has to get done.

That is why we translate in both directions. A business need becomes a technical requirement. A technical reality becomes business meaning: what is happening, why it matters, what the options are, and what we recommend.

What RPMC stands for

Understand the business. Communicate clearly. Get it handled.

You should be able to bring us the concern and trust that we will understand it, explain it clearly, and take responsibility for what happens next.

Understanding

We start with what you are trying to accomplish and why the issue matters to the business.

Communication

We speak in normal language and make complicated technology easier to understand and deal with.

Responsibility

We work out what needs to happen and who needs to be involved. You can start with us even when the technical owner is not obvious.

Practical judgment

We use technical expertise to recommend what makes sense for the business, balancing the technology with cost, risk, operations, and the result you actually need.

Follow-through

We stay involved, coordinate what needs to happen, and help move the technical need toward resolution.

Dependability

The relationship should feel dependable. Bring us the concern and know that someone is accountable for understanding it and keeping it moving.

A broader IT department

One IT department, with specialist depth behind it when needed.

We build these capabilities into the IT department you work with. Some are handled entirely by our team. Others are led inside RPMC and backed by specialist companies, platforms, or infrastructure behind the scenes. Either way, you keep working with us, and we remain responsible for the relationship and for keeping the technical need moving.

What you work with

You still work with us

From your perspective, the capability stays inside the RPMC relationship. Some work is handled entirely by our team. In other areas, our people lead the work with specialist support behind them.

Cybersecurity is one example. We have people responsible for the service and the customer relationship, with additional monitoring and security expertise backing them up when needed. The same model can apply to phones, hosting, websites, specialist projects, and other technology areas.

What sits behind that

Specialists add depth when needed

We bring the right resources into the solution when they add value. That can include specialist platforms, infrastructure, vendors, or outside expertise. Another vendor may own a specific technical action, but we stay involved in understanding the need, managing the technical conversation where appropriate, and keeping the work moving. You should not have to coordinate every technology company yourself.

What working with RPMC should feel like

I can talk to them normally.

I can call them.

I can explain the concern in ordinary language.

They understand what I mean, and why it matters to the business.

They handle the technical part, including the vendors and systems I should not have to chase.

Where this is going

A broader IT department, built on the same communication and accountability.

We are continuing to build RPMC as an outsourced IT department for multiple businesses while keeping the communication, accountability, and personal service that helped the company grow in the first place. When it comes to technology, the aim is straightforward: RPM Computers has it handled.
